Our Design Principles
We design clothes for inspiring women. Influentials, like you, who appreciate good design that’s minimal, mindfully made, and iconic with mid-century charm. We believe in great style that highlights your personality and inspires you to live with grace and confidence. And minimalism that brings simplicity and practicality to your wardrobe - so you’re free to do the things you love to do.
A dress is more beautiful when it brings out your personality and frees you to do the things you love most.
The First Collection
We started Amy Kuschel in 1999 with a collection of simple, elegant wedding gowns. At the time, it was hard to find elevated style that was affordable. All these years later, with plenty of hands-on dressmaking expertise and thousands of really cool brides, our goal is still the same: to create elegant dresses that are attainable and cut-to-flatter with clean, iconic lines. When you walk down the aisle in style that’s thoughtfully designed to reflect your personality, you say “I do” with grace and confidence. It’s the perfect way to start a lifelong love affair.
Ready to Wear
More than ever, you’re inundated with opportunities to buy clothes, from poorly made fast fashion, to frivolous, high-end couture. You end up overwhelmed by a closet full of pretty things, and nothing to wear.
In 2016 we launched the first Amy Kuschel ready to wear line. We curated our collection with minimalist designs, flattering lines and high quality fabrics. These are our favorite pieces, the building blocks that create a wardrobe that’s easy for you to navigate with iconic style and a retro vibe. From our denim and lace pencil skirts, to our studio shirts and 60’s inspired shift dresses, everything is designed to be endlessly mixed and matched to take you from work to weekend. They’re pieces you’ll pair with your best vintage - and wear for years to come.
Mindfully Made
We love making our clothes in San Francisco with quality, American craftsmanship. From designing and pattern-making, to cutting, sewing, and draping, it’s all done at our in-house studio and in neighborhood workshops. We work like a family, putting something of ourselves into our products to ensure every design is well made with wearability and sustainability in mind. When you invest in your favorite pieces and live in them longer, you simplify your style, lessen your need to consume, and support your local working community: it’s a win-win-win.
