In 1912, L.W. Barnes purchased the funeral home from J.G. Grove and since that time it has been in continuous operation by family at the present location at 801 Main Street in Oroville. In 1947, Mr. Barnes' son in law, Hans Bergh, began working in the family business and purchased the funeral home in 1951. Hans' son, Gary, being raised in the funeral profession, worked at a young age with his father and in 1967 began working full time. In the 1970's, he purchased the funeral home from Hans and Helene Bergh. In 1989, Gary's nephew, Scott Miller, began working full time at the funeral home and together with Gary operate Bergh Funeral Service. In 1992, funeral home offices were added in Tonasket and Republic to better serve families in these communities. In the fall of 2014 Bergh Funeral Service added our own crematory to be able to offer local cremation services for families we serve.
