Bird Electric Corporation began business in 1973 with a 7 unit condominium project on the Poulsbo waterfront. Rob Bird worked by himself in those early days, primarily focusing on residential work. His background of commercial and industrial while serving as an apprentice, journeyman, and foreman electrician for six years in Los Angeles gave him the skills he needed to diversify.

Rob had two very good friends who were contractors, and they introduced him to various general contractors in the area. As demand for his work grew, Rob needed to bring on additional help. One of Bird Electric’s first employees was Kevin Kvinsland, who was hired in 1974 and remains as an estimator/project manager to this day.



Shortly thereafter, Bird Electric hired Gordon Foss, who also remains hard at work as a general foreman. In 1976 Sidney Reeves was hired and continues to this day as the residential work manager.
