Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory began in Ellensburg, WA as Affordable Funeral Care under the ownership of Dick & Janet Roy Knautz in 2001. In 2010 they grew into the Yakima Valley and later became known as Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory.

Because of their compassionate leadership and honest dealings, they were soon the leading Funeral Service Provider in both Yakima and Kittitas Counties. Through the years, thousands of families have turned to Brookside Funeral Home in their time of need, knowing they would get the best care our profession has to offer.

In 2016, they brought Jamin Mohler onto their management team, knowing that one day his family would carry on their tradition of excellence. In 2018, Dick & Janet officially retired and passed the ownership of Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory on to Jamin and his wife, Kara Mohler.

Since that day, the Mohler family and our dedicated staff have continued to build upon the standards set by Dick & Janet. We are honored to be selected as torch bearers carrying on the values and traditions of Brookside’s storied past.
