Cascade Flooring America opened its doors on August 3rd, 1978 when Cindy Severson realized that she could offer both better service and lower prices than the other flooring stores. Forty years later, many of her original customers are still buying from Cascade Flooring America. Only now, Cascade's customers are not limited to flooring, they can also purchase slab countertops and Hunter Douglas window treatments, feeling confident that they will receive the same level of boutique service at value pricing that they've come to expect.
Cindy established the business with only a desk, five carpet sample books, and a crib for her toddler, Sunny. Cindy's determination to provide excellent customer service brought continued growth, and in 1988 Cascade moved to downtown Vancouver. Sunny grew up to become a respected and successful sales consultant and by going to job sites with installers, he learned the basics of installation, developing his vast knowledge of the business. Wanting to keep her focus on providing personal care for Cascade's customers, in 2003 Cindy made Sunny a partner in the business. Their combination of experiences, together with their respect for customers and employees, resulted in the need to build their State-of-the-Art showroom in Hazel Dell.
