Despite a struggling economy, one mother-daughter team in Murrieta, CA has been living the dream. In August 2011, Kelly Burnette and her daughter, Jacqueline, expanded Kelly’s small antique store in historic downtown Murrieta into a large, eclectic shop. The shop, Cottage Charm, is a unique antique store that specializes in antiques, collectibles, and handmade jewelry.

Customers who visit Cottage Charm will find cottage-style antiques, unique collectibles, crystal jewelry, furniture and more. Kelly primarily focuses on antiques and specialty items, refurbishing furniture with a shabby chic style. Jacqueline specializes in handmade jewelry using a variety of recycled materials including wine bottles and watch parts. The ladies frequent estate and yard sales to keep the inventory fresh, so Murrieta locals will want to stop by often to see what’s new.

In addition to managing their shop, The Burnettes work with an antique and specialty store next to Cottage Charm, Miss Bocalyvee's Boutique, to host the Ivy Street Market. Held on the first Saturday of every month, customers can visit this unique street fair to find a variety of handcrafted and vintage goods. The next fair is April 6, 2013, so Murrieta locals will want to mark their calendars.
