In April 2013, the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce took on the added responsibility of destination marketing for the valley. On January 1, 2014, the Chamber then added the mission of the Wenatchee Valley Sports Council as part of its destination marketing strategy with the creation of Wenatchee Valley Sports.

Wenatchee Valley Sports functions include assisting in the recruitment and retention of sports tournaments, events and related activities, tracking economic impact from those events and serving as an informational pipeline for area sports organizations. Former Sports Council marketing director Matt Kearny leads the efforts of directing sports tourism for the Chamber. Council members continue to serve an active role as an appointed advisory committee to the Chamber Board of Directors.
