Life is a journey and finding ways to enjoy the ride and not be stressed by challenges is important. I help my clients to organize their financial lives so they can more comfortably reach their goals and enjoy their journey rather than focusing on the vehicle to get them there. Wealth to some is the goal, but for me, money is just a vehicle to enjoy your life. Setting goals allows you to make life events happen – buy a house, pay off college debt, plan for your child's college, retire and travel. Being comfortable in your knowledge of where you are and how to get where you want to be can allow your brain time and space to prioritize family, friends and your life's passions.
I grew up in a community-focused family. My mother served as an Alderman and both my parents were active on parks, library and other community boards. This active, "giving-back" culture is a deep part of who I am, and much of the reason that I joined Edward Jones. The culture of helping others, and specifically helping others to achieve and reach their goals, is a passion for me. I am extremely lucky to come from a family that understood the value in saving and investment; between my parents and my grandparents, I held securities accounts almost from birth. And my parents made sure that not only did I understand those investments, but I was involved with managing my investments, I did my own taxes alongside my father. Knowing where you stood financially and knowing your financial goals were simply a part of life.
