A Seattle native, George Dean began working on motorcycles in 1976. By the late 1980’s he was teaching at the Universal Technical Institute’s Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Then in 1989 a customer asked him to build a engine to put in a racecar for his daughter. After that first season of Mini-Sprint racing, George was hooked on racing. Shortly thereafter another customer asked him to build a engine for a D sportsracer, and soon George knew that building engines for racecars was his passion. In 1993 Dean opened his own independent shop, Seattle Cycle Services, providing service to motorcyclists in the Puget Sound area. It focused primarily on Japanese motors and motorcycles.
In 2000 he acquired a SuperFlow dynometer and began providing high performance engine building and tuning services. His customer base rapidly grew from a few local racers to a large group of enthusiasts from all over the United States and Canada. When George is not at the shop, you’ll likely find him at a track somewhere. He has provided trackside assistance from Daytona, to Road America to Texas. George is living his dream and looks forward to going to work each and every day.
