Owner Paul Schweitzer joined Gramercy Typewriter Co. alongside his father in 1959, right after serving in the U.S. Navy. He has been servicing typewriters since then and has seen his share of changes in the industry—from the standard office machines, to the wide varied selection of portable typewriters, to the electric models, followed by the later electronic machines. Staying true to his trade, Paul is still fixing and servicing the very same makes and models of typewriters he started working on nearly six decades ago.
