Hoffman’s Appliance has served and grown with our community for over 100 years. Our long–time customers know the commitments to service and low prices that have been a part of this local, family–owned company since the beginning. Founded by the grandparents of our current owner, Hoffman’s opened as a candy shop and bookstore on Joseph Avenue, serving school children. The store grew into Hoffman’s Music Shop, which carried musical instruments for students.

During the 1920’s, when radio started to grow around the country, Hoffman’s was the first local store to sell radios. At that point, household technology became the focus of our product line, and we brought Rochester new appliances as they were invented: refrigerators, washers and dryers, televisions and more. We also made clear our commitment to community. We have a long history of offering credit — “a dollar down, a dollar a week” was both a motto and a policy — and serving our area. In the 1940’s, returning GI’s were given credit on good faith. Some of our longest–time customers remember those days, and how Hoffman’s helped our town to grow right along with it.

That spirit of service is still active today, at Rochester’s original home of the Guaranteed Lowest Price. We offer better prices than big box stores, and what’s more, your investment stays in your community and continues to help it thrive, which is what we’ve been doing since 1900.
