Ross graduated Oklahoma State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Architecture. One year later in 1973, he graduated Southern Methodist University with a Master of Business Administration. He completed his internship with Craycroft-Lacey Partners in Dallas. In 1977, while working for Fusch-Womack Architects, he received his architectural and interior design license in the State of Texas. In 1978, he partnered with Robbie Fusch, creating Fusch-Ikemire & Associates, where they specialized in exquisite, high-end, custom residences. In 1982, Ross formed his own company, Ikemire Architects LLC, and has since provided superior architectural services on a variety of project types, including multi-family, high-end residential, multi-story hospitality, mixed-use commercial buildings and senior living projects.

He is a member of AIA (American Institute of Architects), TBAE (Texas Board of Architectural Examiners) and NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Board). He is registered in Texas as an Architect and Interior Designer and currently holds an active architectural license in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Wyoming and Washington.
