Farming > Farm and Agricultural Machinery

n 1968, while in high school, Jack worked for Mann’s Oliver dealership turning wrenches part time, which eventually turned into a shop foreman position. Through his position he earned respect of many local farmers because of his ability to repair their equipment, and it would be done quickly the right way, the 1st time. Mann’s however, went out of business in 1979. Jack had earned the respect of their customers, and equipment in our local area still needed to be serviced, so Jack continued doing repairs on the side. Jack then decided to rent a shop and run a full time repair business.

Then, soon after that in 1980, he purchased a house for his wife, along with a shop on the same property in Sloansville, New York. He eventually had to put up a larger building to be able to accommodate his new found customer base. There, he continued to work on trucks and farm equipment with just one other employee by his side. Ironically, in 1983, Jack bought the former building where he had originally started the journey at Mann’s Oliver dealership, and quickly became a White dealer. Again, with business moving steadily forward, he succeeded with just one technician and sister, Kay working in the office for him. In 1987, Jack Miller’s Tractor took on Ford/New Holland and has continued with them still to this day. Jack truly has a gift for selling and fixing agricultural machinery, and still continues to enjoy it. Through the years, Jack purchased land on Route 30 in Schoharie, where he in time built the current shop in 2010. The facility is conveniently located in the heart of the Schoharie Valley.
