Everything we do is focused on fulfilling one of California’s greatest needs: quality housing for families at an affordable price. Our unique company structure allows us to accomplish this mission project after project. Our story dates back to 2012, when Josh Santa and Ken Baumgartner saw the unique opportunity to build single family homes in East San Diego County at a discount to home buyers. Since then, KIRE has molded itself into a highly dynamic home builder that focuses on delivering high quality housing to local families. The nimble nature of our team allows us to pivot when necessary to stay in front and take advantage of market shifts as they occur. The KIRE name is derive from a heartfelt commitment to Ken’s son, Erik, who was tragically taken from us at a young age. KIRE is Erik spelled backwards to maintain the integrity of his name. The proper pronunciation is very similar to “hire” or “tire” (’kī(e)r).

It was always Ken’s dream to have a father-son home building business here in San Diego and by forming KIRE Builders, Erik’s legacy lives on. The KIRE team embodies the meaning behind its name and is devoted to putting their heart into every project.
