Our District Deputy Michael Taylorpresented to the council and PGK Tom Graythe Columbian Award and the Founders Award for the past fraternal year. The Columbian Award is given to councils that have an outstanding program agenda for the past year. The Founder’s Award is award to the council in letting itsFraternal Benefit’s quota for the fraternal year. Members should give themselves a “pat on the back” for these recognitions for thispast fraternal year. -----Observations for the Fall... •Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes;•Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it;•These days people seek knowledge, not wisdom. Knowledge is of the past, wisdom is of the future;•Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused;•Education is when you read the fine print. Experience is what you get if you don't; •If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried;•Imagination is more important than knowledge;•Never do card tricks for the group you play poker with;•Thereis a fine line betweengenius and insanity;•Age is a very high price to pay for maturity;•A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good;•A light heart lives long;-----A Sunday School Story... Little Johnny went to Sunday school one Sunday. The lesson for the day was from the book of Genesis. The Sunday School Teacher shared with the class the following:“God opened up Adam’s side, took a rib from him, and created from that ribEve who becameAdam’s wife.”That story really stuck with Johnny that day. Later, that afternoon, Johnny started feelingsick, and his side began to hurt. He laid down on the couch, and after about half an hour, his mother came over and asked him if he was feeling okay. He said, “Not really –I think I’m gonna have a wife.”-----
