I have made ballroom dance my career. I have been in the dance business for over 30 years. During my career, I have traveled the country as a competitive dancer, a professional dancer, and as a teacher- dancing with my students (pro/am). I have also spent many years coaching new staff and competitive dance couples. My career began after a scholarship in gymnastics from Southwest Texas State University. Ballroom dancing was an interest of mine in college. I started my career after college with Fred Astaire dance studios. After some wonderful coaching and training , I opened my own studio under the Fred Astaire franchise. When I felt the time was right, I married and started a family. At this time, I decided to become an independent instructor. The hours were flexible, so I could raise 2 children and work. Fast forward 20 or so years...Now, I live in Sugar Land, TX. My children are grown and educated. I'm an empty nester, and it's time I get back to doing what I love- teaching. I have continued dancing through the years. I have some ongoing group classes, and I teach at the T.C.Harman senior center. I am well rounded in my teaching abilities, and I teach all levels. However, I am happiest teaching beginners. I specialize in teaching the new students, I've taught thousands! The techniques and analogies I use while teaching make it fun, and most importantly, help make the lessons easy to understand. I try to put myself in your shoes and cater your lesson to your wants and needs. I hope you have learned a little about me; I hope to learn a little about you.
