In 1942 Francis W. McMahon began his long and prestigious funeral career. In that same year Frank and his father-in-law George Tracy founded the Tracy- McMahon Funeral Homes in White Plains NY, which at the time was located on North Broadway. In 1946 Frank moved the funeral home and his family to its current location on Mamaroneck Avenue and renamed it McMahon Funeral Home.

Several additions to the existing funeral home were made in order to accommodate the growing population of the city and the surrounding areas. To this day the funeral home has one of the biggest funeral chapels in all of Westchester. In 1964 Frank acquired the 100 year old Lyon & Hartnett Undertakers.
