In July 1987, Steven and Richard Morse purchased Milwaukie Lumber Company from the Kingsley family, which had operated the business at the present Milwaukie location since 1939. Since we purchased the company more than two decades ago, many changes have taken shape.
In 1989 we built a new showroom, a bold expansion that took us from 700 sq. ft. to 3,500 sq. ft. At the same time, we undertook a major paving project and replaced gravel with asphalt (to the delight of our many customers.) We expanded the plywood shed in 1992 and added new office space in 1993. As you can see, we place great importance on making physical improvements that benefit our customers and employees.
