Olympic Color Rods was established in 1987 by glassblower Phil O’Reilly, working out of his Bellevue, Washington garage.

Providing a much needed service to the burgeoning glassblowing community, the company quickly grew and in the early 90’s moved to the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle. In May of 2018, OCR upgraded to an even larger warehouse space overlooking the ship canal near the Ballard neighborhood. Despite having a staff of under 20, OCR is now one of the largest suppliers of glassblowing color and tools in North America.

Most of the staff have been with the Company over ten years, some over twenty, and they remain committed to providing the friendly, personalized and expert service that has become a hallmark of Olympic Color Rods.

OCR values its relationship with the glassblowing community and supports its growth by ongoing donations to schools, programs and conferences.

Our warehouse is open to the public and customers are often seen happily browsing the shelves in search of that spark of inspiration. When you’re in the area be sure to stop by, as we are always delighted to meet our customers in person and hear about their current projects.
