Our President, Warren J. Sonne was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1949, and attended George W. Wingate High School, and the New York Institute of Technology.

After joining the NYPD in 1968, Sonne left the uniformed service in 1972, and was assigned to the NYPD’s Narcotics Division where he worked both as an undercover and a field investigator.

For the next 18 years Sonne honed his investigative skills, leaving the Narcotics Division in 1976 for the Arson Explosion Division, the predecessor of the Joint-Terrorist Task Force, conducting investigations of terrorist groups in the NYC area. Sonne rounded out his career by being assigned to the Queens Sex Crimes Squad, Queens Detective Task Force, 108th and 110th Precinct Detective Units, the Special Investigations Division, Polygraph Unit, before finally returning to the 108 Precinct where he finished his career investigating homicides and developing their intelligence file on Korean Gangs.

Sonne was the recipient of the NYPD's "Combat Cross," its second highest award, for "an act of extraordinary heroism while engaged in personal combat with an armed adversary under circumstances of imminent personal hazard to life." Sonne has
