Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc. has been serving the Rome Community for 143 years. Jerome B. Wiggins founded the business in 1868. He operated the business with his son, John T. Wiggins, as the Wiggins Company. In 1919, Willard H. Prince and Waldo Wiggins Prince took over the business.
In 1963, Kenneth G. Boyd and Waldo Wiggins Prince joined in a partnership and the funeral home became known as Prince & Boyd Home for Funerals. Waldo Wiggins Prince passed away in 1975.
David E. Hyatt joined the firm in 1978. In 1985, David and Kenneth formed a corporation and the name was changed to Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc. In 1992, David took over the funeral home with his wife, Debra. They continue to offer personalized and compassionate care to the families they serve.
