To get a California Driver's License:
Take our convienient online Driver's Education course with a “Talking Teacher”®,
If you are between the ages of 15 ½ and 17 ½ and you want to go driving, you must:
1. Complete Driver’s Education
We recommend you take our online Driver’s Ed – on the Net® course because it is:
Least expensive;
Has a “Talking Teacher”® (full audio);
Complete the course at your convienience – anytime – anywhere on a computer.
2. Pass a test at the DMV to get a Provisional Permit
3. Drive for one full lesson (two hours) with a licensed driving instructor
Have the Provisional Permit endorsed by the instructor;
Practice driving with an adult (25 years and older) for at least 40 day-time hours and 10 night-time hours;
4. Complete two more lessons (4 hours) with a licensed instructor;
5. When takinbg the Provisional Permit test at the DMV you will need the certificate of completion from our online course, your birth certificate, proof of CA residency, the DMV application and fee.
To take the test, you will need: Certificate of completion of Classroom Driver’s Education (OL237) your birth certificate or passport, the DL 44-DMV Driver's application, the appropriate fee;
