uly 1977 – Rick Gile leaves his job with a local auto dealer and forms OMR Business Equipment, repairing office equipment and selling janitorial supplies out of their home.

October 1977 – Rick and wife Olga, establish R.J. Gile Co., Inc. and rents a 300 square foot store front on Hoosick Street in Troy, New York. The company adds a line of office supplies and produces their first general line catalog. in January 1978, Rick’s mother, Edith, leaves her employer after 35 years and becomes the Company’s bookkeeper. The Company now enters the commercial office products market and hires the first employee outside the family.

1979 – R.J. Gile Co. Inc. moves to a new location on Hoosick Road in the Town of Brunswick and adds greeting cards and a USPS substation to the office supplies.

1983 – Rick and Olga purchase property on Hoosick Road in the Town of Brunswick and begin construction on a new building. The building is completed and the business moves in during February 1984. Rick’s dad, Jim, retires from his career with Norton Company and begins working part-time.

1989 – R.J. Gile Co., Inc. purchases Greens Office Outfitters, an Albany NY based office products dealer founded in 1912. The Company now operates retail locations in Troy, downtown Albany and Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland along with warehouse facilities in Troy and Albany.

1996 – Web Services Group, Inc., an Internet solutions company, is founded by sons Michael and James. The warehouse operations are moved from Albany to South Troy and consolidated to the larger facility

1996 – Office Quarters, Inc., an Internet based office products dealer is founded by the family.

1997 – Warehouse and office facility at 4 Interstate Avenue are purchased and all operations are moved to the new location.

2003 – Buying Partners, LLC, an Internet based office products dealer is founded by the family.

2004 – PriceHeist.com, an Internet based office products dealer is founded by the family.

2006 – Gile Toys an Internet based educational toy dealer is founded by James and Michael.

2009 – R.J. Gile Co., Inc. is sold to W.B. Mason, the largest independent office products dealer in the nation.

2011 – Web Services Group, Inc. and the Internet retail operations move to Saratoga Springs, NY.

2012 – WSG Consulting, Inc., a network support and Internet development firm, is formed by Michael and Jim.
