Our founder, JP Ramandev, has been perfecting the art of dehydrating food since 1998. He wanted to find a solution that would help growers even out their variable returns to gain more financial security. From talking to people in the industry, JP realized that there was a strong interest in preserving the harvest among growers, so why weren’t they?

Well, it turns out that many small and medium-sized growers didn’t have enough cash on hand to buy themselves an industrial-size food dryer (which would help them make more money). The large-scale dryers currently available all require on-site installation, which makes it near impossible for growers to simply ‘try out’ drying their produce.

So, JP got to work. He used all his academic training in agribusiness and chemistry to design a transportable dryer that did not require installation to make moving the dryer from one farm to another easy. To make his dryer even more accessible to the agricultural community, he chose a business model that allows growers and processors to rent or lease his dryer only for the time they need one.

And that is how Rich Naturals was born!
