Jonathan Baldivino (Owner) was raised in Manila, Philippines. In 2012, he moved to Tacoma and found himself primarily working odd jobs while trying to figure out his path to the American Dream. After meeting a prominent local roofer at a church in Burien, Jonathan’s career as a professional roofer quickly took off.

For seven years, Jonathan mastered the roofing trade while mentoring with a local legend, Fred Meyer of Fred Meyer Roofing (no relation to the superstore of the same name). During this time, Jonathan not only learned about all sorts of roofing – residential and commercial, steep and low slope roofs – he also learned about how roofing fits into the overall structure of a building.



Jonathan expanded his structural education by working with Hansel Construction. He helped pour foundations, install framing, and complete carpentry projects such as millwork and cabinetry. He also witnessed plumbers, electricians, and HVAC pros work their magic, and saw how integral each component is to the performance of the structure. This knowledge helps him not only know what roofing to install in any given situation, but why.
In 2014, Jonathan was ready to strike out on his own. Before Fred Meyer retired, he passed along many referrals to help Roofscapes NW take flight, especially flat roof surfaces (modern homes and commercial buildings) that Jonathan loved to do. Over the years, Jonathan recruited the very best roofers to join his team and enables them to share in his company’s success. When he’s not doing site tours and writing estimates, Jonathan can be found working with his crew on their latest project.
