Step into Runyon’s and you’ll quickly forget about the cars cruising along Merrick Road just outside. Half of Runyon’s is a bar large enough to accommodate a crowd of family and friends or sports enthusiasts by day and mix of friendly regulars and newly welcomed guests at night.
The dining room features cozy private booths and a menu to satisfy your craving for everything from crispy wings with our house made Bleu Cheese dressing to the Runyon’s Celebrated House Steak, a marinated 14oz hand selected NY shell. Soups are always homemade and our “Seaford Bisque”, a creamy mélange of seafood has been touted by customers as the ‘best bisque on Long Island’. Mussel Pots feature 2lbs of Prince Edward Island Mussels and inventive sauces such as Coconut Curry, Beer n’ Cheese or Bacon and Bleu. Ideal for a light meal or accompaniment to one of our seasonal craft beers. Daily Black Board specials are always something to look forward to as well as entrees that include Pistachio Crusted Salmon; Catalan Shrimp, jumbo shrimp with spicy Spanish chorizo and white northern beans sautéed in extra virgin olive oil and garlic; Mediterranean Tilapia, sautéed sashimi grade tilapia filet in a Pinot Grigio wine sauce with sliced mushrooms, shallots and a drizzle of lemon infused extra virgin olive. Napa Valley Chicken features boneless breasts sautéed with artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes served with spinach whipped potatoes.
Prime Rib is on the menu religiously on Friday and Saturday evenings. Pasta picks include Chicken Pomodoro, Zuppa Di Pesce, Garden Pesto Primavera and the Farmers Pasta, made with spinach, chopped bacon and diced tomatoes tossed with penne in a light Romano cheese cream sauce and finished with a sunny side up egg and toasted breadcrumbs. Don’t miss our selection of classics, Mile High Meatloaf, Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Portofino or Sesame Fried Shrimp with chef’s Wasabiyaki sauce. Our Fat Burger selections are made with a half-pound of grilled sirloin and served with fries, slaw and pickle and come in an incarnation to suit even the most seasoned burger aficionado. Vegetarian options available.
If the grill is your thing we have you covered. Certified Angus Beef Rib-Eye, a 16 oz bone in rib eye topped with herb butter; Steak and Shrimp, a grilled 10 oz NY Shell topped with a trio of Jumbo shrimp smothered in scampi sauce; or the Porterhouse Pork Chop au Poivre Vert, a premium chop topped with a peppercorn, brandy, Dijon brown sauce. There are plenty of options if you just want something to nosh on with your cocktail or beer; not just wings or chili and chips, try our fresh baked Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel with three dipping sauces; our raw bar selection of Jumbo shrimp, Blue Point oysters and local Long Island clams. Signature items such as our Lighthouse Clams, are the perfect marriage between a baked clam and clams casino or Oysters Runyon, fresh shucked oysters broiled with Cajun aioli and Finlandia Swiss cheese. Try our Irish Nachos, thin cut, skin on fresh fried potatoes drizzled with our house made bleu cheese dressing and topped with smoked bacon, diced tomatoes and scallions. Fresh cut crudité and lighter options are always available and special dietary requests are honored for those with dietary restrictions or preferences.
As one of the areas most established happy hour destinations, casual dining and party venues serving fresh seafood, pastas, appetizers and grill selections, Runyon’s is the place for family and friends to come and enjoy a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Kids eat free from 4pm – 7pm seven days a week; Takeout available seven days a week; Catering services available on or off premise seven days a week. Our cozy private catering room accommodates up to 40 people for your birthday celebration, rehearsal dinner, bridal or baby shower.
