Started by George Dean in 1993 as a affordable and quality full-service alternative to the dealerships, Seattle Cycle Service quickly became the standard of personalized and friendly customer service for motorcycle owners.

By the late 1990's George Dean had expanded Seattle Cycle Service to 3 full-time employees and started to focus on performance engine building and tuning. Starting small he built engines for local road racers and mini-sprint teams. Quickly his reputation of building reliable and affordable engines spread nationally.

Finding himself routinely traveling to races around the country to assist racers George relied on trusted lead tech Walter Myers to hold the fort. Walter was entrusted in keeping the standards George set forth as Seattle Cycle Service creed of “quality and affordable service“.

In 2000 a Superflow 150 Dyno was added and consequently George was found dynoing motors and motorcycles more than working on bikes, and that left Walter with taking over most of the motorcycle repair and service work. Graduate of Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (1984) and working in dealerships and independent shops since, Walter (hired in 1998) soon ran the shop as his and never forgot the important values and techniques taught to him by owner, mentor and friend George Dean.
In the spring of 2007 George Dean Racing Engines was started and George officially sold George Dean Seattle Cycle Service to longtime employee Walter Myers.
Summer of 2009 found Seattle Cycle Service & George Dean Racing Engines services growing in demand and necessitating a move to larger seperate locations. Located within a few blocks of each other in Mountlake Terrace, SCS and GRD still share equipment, expertise and suppliers to provide unsurpassed service.
