John Scheuerman, Sr. founded Sherman Optical in 1939 at Third and Pike in downtown Seattle. Throughout the years, our business expanded with offices throughout the Seattle area. Sherman Optical has been managed by the Scheuerman family for 79 years. John Scheuerman Jr. took over from John, Sr. and in 1975, John, Jr. passed the store to his son Fred. Fred kept one individual store running, and today Fred’s son, Mike runs that store.
