It all began in 1920 when Ben Smith began peddling milk to his neighbors for some extra cash. Little did he know that his one-cow operation would eventually become one of the largest independent dairies in the region, processing and delivering milk to more than 60,000 porches up and down the Puget Sound.

You could say a lot has changed since our humble beginnings. Cardboard cartons replaced glass bottles. Orders are no longer handwritten, but instead are done online with the tap of a button. And, we’ve partnered with local companies and artisans to offer fresh flavors from around the Northwest.

The one thing that hasn’t changed? We remain committed to continuing and honoring the legacy of our founder by providing the freshest local milk to our neighbors and friends around the region.

We’re also proud to say that we are a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated company. We have extended family members involved at every level, with Ben’s great-grandson leading the business.

To commemorate the milestone, we created this page as a tribute to our past, present, and future. We invite you to join us as we explore our history, celebrate the people and region that brought us where we are today, and look ahead to the next 100 years.
