SMS Precision Tech began in 2011 with a metallurgist, MWD sales rep, and financier with the goal of providing superior parts and services to the directional drilling community. With growth to 50 employees within 3 years, we’d say the goal was met!
SMS leadership has over 40 years of experience in Oil & Gas and metallurgy, making us the perfect partner for your MWD part needs. Located just outside Houston, Texas, SMS provides same day delivery of most standard parts. We also welcome the opportunity to work with your team to create/build custom parts. SMS Precision Tech manufactures parts in all the standard MWD materials (including Stainless, Nitronic 50, Beryllium Copper) as well as our own proprietary nickel-based alloy blend called SMS167, which was developed to stand up to the increasingly harsh downhole environment.
