Gary M. Szytel, PE, LS - Principal
With more than 45 years experience in the land development engineering field in San Diego County, Gary Szytel has extensive experience with all types of development projects, large and small. He formed Szytel Engineering and Surveying in 1976. He is both a registered civil engineer and licensed land surveyor in the State of California (RCE 24080 and LS 4458). Mr. Szytel earned his civil engineering degree at San Diego State University. His early career experience was with two other privately owned firms and the County of San Diego parcel map processing section.

He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA), and the North County Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors Association (NCCELSA).

Indicative of the position of leadership he holds in the professional community, Mr. Szytel has assisted the California State Board of Registration in grading the licensing examination for Land Surveyors (1986-1994).
William F. Klaner, LS - Project Manager
William F. Klaner is a licensed land surveyor in California (LS 5929) and holds an Associate Degree in Land Surveying. He began his surveying career in Vietnam as Chief of Parties, supervising the layout for roads, bridges and airfields. He then served for three years with the City of Garden Grove Engineering Department before relocating to the San Diego area.

Mr. Klaner has over 40 years of land development experience in San Diego County working with two private firms, and has been with Szytel Engineering and Surveying since 1978. He has a thorough understanding of the design process and continually offers accurate and responsive solutions, ever mindful of the client's interest.
