Haring Happen. The typical Dutch way of eating haring dates back centuries. But why we eat it this way is not entirely clear. Some say that by just touching it with a few fingers and hanging it upside down above ones mouth, the neat Dutch tried to stay clean and avoid dirtying their clothes. Whatever the reason, you don’t see it in any other country.The NLCLUB is more than a cozy outpost where Dutch people can enjoy a beer, a bitterbal, and some old school “gezelligheid.” We’re a community for anyone who is Dutch, or Dutch at heart. For anyone who wants to enjoy Dutch culture in New York, and socialize with great people from Holland, New York, and everywhere.
