Ron was born in this area and raised in the tri-cities. After meeting Maddie in 1983, the floor covering store Ron worked for moved to Seattle, and that’s when we decided to open a store together, which was in 1985. With the help of the right people like Phyllis Sage, Bob Ford, and Ron’s brother Mike, we were able to offer products and service that made us successful. Maddie pushed sales and worked commercial, and Ron worked on installing, training and bidding. We soon passed our business plan goals and had to learn to run a company.
By 1989, we had grown significantly and were noticed by Carpet One. Our reputation, size, and ability made us the natural choice for the company. We resisted at first, but after deciding to open a second store, it made the most sense to go with Carpet One. Although the second store did not work for us at that time, it allowed us to experience what carpet one is all about, and we soon turned our main store into a carpet one, a GREAT decision.
Today, we continue to focus on providing high-quality products, flooring knowledge, and superior customer service, along with our reputation in the local community.
